Installing Short Shifter In 92 Honda Civic

HI ALL, I NEED HELP INSTALLING A SHORT THROW SHIFTER I GOT THE SHIFTER BRAND NEW VERY VERY NICE!!!! I GOT A 1993 HONDA CIVIC HATCH BUT I HAVE AN EXHAUST SYSTEM, HOW AND WHERE DO I START AT!!!! ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED TY!!!

unhook the exhuast from the rubber hangers, and then you jsut have to work with it there. i recently did this on my car. its not that hard. you have to unscrew the bolt connecting the shifter to the long metal piece its bolted into. then unbolt the rubber piece holding the shifter up. then go to the front of the car and that other long rod that is still connected to the shifter is connected to the transmission. you unscrew that, then remove the shift boot and disconnect the shifter form the inside. now try and maneuver the whole assemlby out of place. once u do that, just unscrew the shifter from the assembly, and put it all back together with the new one.
