Bandits giving me problems PLEASE HELP

Hey guys i got my car all tuned up and good to go.. and im noticing that when im stoped completly then press the gas she wants to die down ( as if shes getting maybe to much gas?) then if i tap it in once or twice she catches herself and goes like a bat out of hell...i was thinking maybe the carbs to big? but i dont know let me know what you think...

Also another problem i found lol was that my blinker and brake light for the right side seem to be messed up (i have checked all bulbs and replaced them) the blinker doesnt work at all.. and the brake lights work but they go half dim when i hit the brake peddle and if i take one bulb out they work fine..but i checked the voltage and there all getting the 12V im thinking maybe a wire has shorted? idk if this is a common problem on the 79's so please let me know thanks.

P.S I burnt a 02 Mustang Gt for you guys today...the bastard pulled up next to me and reeved the engine going about 60 so i rolled down my window and waved good bye

Re: Bandits giving me problems PLEASE HELP

maybe the choke is sticking at first also, i here of them doing that some times, but i would look for a intake leak first.

Re: Bandits giving me problems PLEASE HELP

was the carb alredy adjusted? You might have to make it leaner, or more rich.

Re: Bandits giving me problems PLEASE HELP

your carb is not to big. could be the pump shot your getting from the carb is to much. there are different cams to adjust for it.

Re: Bandits giving me problems PLEASE HELP

OK , now which is it really Holley or Edelbrock ,your signiture says everything . I don't know Holleys ,but on Edelbrock if it has been doing it all the time I would say it is your accellerater pump diaphram or a passage between it and where it squirts fuel into the barrel is clogged up . I have rebuilt a couple of them because of this . An easy way to test is to take the filter off with engine off and watch down the throat of the carb and move the throttle linkage to open the primary barrel butterfly you should see a small squirt of gas shoot out on top of the butterfly valve in four places . If not ,you have one of those two things wrong . Do this just after cutting the engine off so there will be gas in the carb . Rob

Re: Bandits giving me problems PLEASE HELP

Holley carbs need constant tuning, I would say it is likely a leak like everyone said, but it definitely could be in need of float adjustments. It even could be incorrect jetting.
