altima ser vs 350z

last night my friends set up a race with a 350z,after he said he couldnt bc of no gas money we all put in a dollar and got him about 5 bucks, so he filled up a little bit and we went out to the 4 lane, after a bunch of messed up races we turned around to do it again, no traffic.. hit the bridge in 2nd gear at 35-40 mph and and stop at around 100.. so here we are coming up to the bridge, i tell my friend, damn too bad i dont have my video camera with me, and as we are coming up we hit the bridge and both of us floor it at the same time, and in 2nd i leave him behind by a car, 3rd my friend says hes catchin up, i slam it in 4th and i can see him in the corner of my eye, by 100 he has one car on me. we got back into town and the z went somewhere else, but i called them and said good race and we'll do it again from a launch. i also want to set him up with the srt4 bc the srt4 is pulling hard as hell now and he pulls on me a lot quicker, both races are pretty much the same except the srt takes less time to pass me.

Re: altima ser vs 350z

u all should come down here sometime, we got a bunch of shit talkin rich kids that thinks they're cars are the fastest. no one down here with an srt4 can launch, im sure drifty can drive that srt to its fullest potential. i would love to see him smoke the 06 eclipse and the cobalt, im pretty sure the cobalt is modded tho bc he beat the eclipse. and also we have all kinds of other cars that will run, one that u might like, a black convertible vr4.

anyways yea i pulled on that z my friend said by a car and a half from 35 and he didnt start pullin til i was in 3rd which is 65 and he was next to me by 90ish and one car ahead by 100.

only the 35th anniversary edition Z makes 300 hp, the other models make 287 and if you figure the sentra loses ~10% power at the front wheels and the Z loses ~15% at the rear, both cars are right around 235-245 whp. i'm not sure if that's right for the Z but from dyno's i've seen, the SE-R altima and 3.5 maxima's put down about 228@the wheels stock.

Re: altima ser vs 350z

yea i think my car is like 220-225whp and the z is 240-245, weight is equal, his top end is better, if we get full bolt ons and cams and computer, we will be the same. i want to run from a launch, i kno i can take him.

Re: altima ser vs 350z

Very nice...It would take skilled driving to pull on the Z like you did...But I figured if you went above 100 the Z would eventually pull on you

and Im confused about the SRT-4...you want you buddy to race him? and you raced him in the past?

Re: altima ser vs 350z

the srt4 is a buddyof mine and we raced many times, the first 3 times i won, i believe the first time he was at 8 psi bc he didnt allow the motor to fully warm up, 2nd time i got the jump and didnt have to look back, he was shiftin at 6.2 instead of 5.5 like i taught him to later, the 3rd time was from a low roll and he had traction issues, that was when he was stock, now hes doin just what the z is doin but faster.and he has agp waste gate and intake, it was a cold night but we raced from 2nd gear roll and a 3rd gear roll up to 90ish and at first i would jump on him then his turbo will spool and he will walk by me. slowly but surely. definitly an improvement from when we raced stock. hes also a very fast shifter.

Re: altima ser vs 350z

You would have to nail the launch to beat the Z. I have a vid of a Z vs. an SE-R, and the Altima pulls ahead only to be pulled on, fairly slowly but convincingly by about 2 cars.

Re: altima ser vs 350z

the srt4 driver says hes drving the same as when i beat him the last time, he thinks its his wga and intake thats making him so much quicker.. i want to race him from a launch but we would have to go like 30 miles to get to a safe place.

i kno i can out launch the z driver. i think he just dumps it, ppl warned me to watch out for his rear end bc he doesnt kno how to drive. i kno i can put a few cars on him up to 2nd then hes gonna be coming back, but from a launch i doubt he will pass me within a 1/4 mile.

Yup! right now i havent had much action for a race man, right now at my new job i got 4 guys telling me to race a 95 5.0 thats modded up the Ass but last night it Rained so we decided that whenever i go to moroso he'll go with me to run it.
but aside from that ive got nothing to race over here aside from STI's
