1995 Speakers

I just recently purchased a 1995 Taurus gl. This car has the base stereo system with no cd or tape player. I was wondering what size speakers fit in this car. I have tryed all of the online fit guides and each one gives me a different size. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 1995 Speakers

My recall is that the rear deck speakers are 6"x8" and the front door speakers are 6.5" round. That seems to agree with http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Bv6Ez4X...roup.asp?g=400

Often times 5"x7" will have elongated mounting tabs to work in the same mounting locations as a 6"x8" speaker.

Thanks shorod, i just couldn't believe that a 6 1/2 speaker would fit in the front door. But, i'll guess with all these sources it must be. Thanks again.

Yeah, the grill on the door makes it appear to be a 3.5" or 4"x6", but it is round and larger than the opening.
