quick newby question

i just installed a hks type 1 boost controller in my '92 stealth rt/tt and had to unplug the ecu, the car is idling rough and dying at intersections, does it just take time for the ecu to learn to idle again or is something seriously messed up. sure would appreciate it,

Re: quick newby question

Is the check engine light on?

It should have to relearn it, especially since its a preprogrammed computer.

Even though yes the ECU must relearn some parameters it shouldnt be stalling. Did you plug everything back in? Like the MAS, all vac lines etc? Is it an open atmosphere BOV? If so that also could be your issue.

Re: quick newby question

everything is plugged back in and all vacuum lines are good, how long does it normally take the ecu to learn again

Re: quick newby question

It sometimes dies if you unplug it. It will be around 1-2 days until your car returns to normal.

Re: quick newby question

ok thanx, i noticed if i kinda ease around not using boost or anything too much it does better, but if i get on it really hard and have to stop really quick it does it, i had this problem before but it went away, just wondering if anyone else experiences this as well

^That's what I'm getting at too, you may have to install an AFC to even things up.
