does anybody have sugetions for a good all round street tire for summer use on pavement ? i've heard g-force tires are good for curves but have very little take-off is this true ?
any feedback would be helpfull toyo, yoko, bridgestone, any ultra high perf.tires that you have exp. with , tell me what you thought of them. the reason i say u.h.p. is i like the directinal tread design look . will i suffer traction if i go this route ? some say dir. tread is worse in rain than normal tread patterns. but that really doesn't matter to me 'cause this is weekend ride that'll probaly never see a rain storm unless it's an accident .dry traction and looks are priority. 285-17 aproximately 26 in. dia. rear / fr. 7-8 in. wide to match |

Re: traction
a tire designed to be a great cornering and handling tire wil have a very stiff sidewall. in the case of the Azenis a steel reinforced sidewall. to have a great cornering tire you want a super stiff sidewall, this is essential. for a tire to have great takeoff traction it needs to have a soft sidewall to allow the tire to "skinny" upon launch. a stiff sidewall'd tire will do the opposite of what a take off tire would need to do
