92' Camry Distributor Rotor

After replacing belts, plugs and wires, dist. cap and rotor and going thru a learning curve of setting the cam timing on our V6 1992 camry, I finally got her idling at 750 rpm's and running like a new engine.

My wife was driving home and the engine died after she heard what she describes as a low "POP". I had the car towed home and started checking and found the rotor had come loose in the dist. cap and stopped the engine.
The rotor is only held by two small screws in the end of the distributor.

What is the best method to ensure this does not happen again ?
Use a loctite material on the screws ? Any other suggestions ?

Pretty much.
Permatix & Loc-tite both make a tread restorer. Try that if yous tripped it out. Otherwise good luck funding a 3vz-fe dizzy. There are not that many non JDM 3vz-fe's around.

The autostore-aftermarket dizzys are like $150-200 parts. God forbid you had to go to Toyota/Lexus!

Threads look fine. Screws just turned and fell out. I can put new screws in i just want to ensure they stay tight this time.
