Bird wont start HELP

I went to defrost my car this morning and it wouldnt start. I turned the key all the way and had the clutched pressed all the way down but it wouldnt fire. Then on the guages i saw a light that said "security" come on. I went up to call my dad and when we came down it was still on. So i got out locked and unlocked the car for the 3rd time and it went of. Then the car fired right up. Does any1 know what the problem might be.

Re: Bird wont start HELP

What year is this car again? It sounds like the security computer if it is a later gen. bird. If it is a third gen. bird, it could be in the chip in the key...

Re: Bird wont start HELP

yea, there is a seperate computer for the security systme on that car I believe. The problem is probably in there. My friend drove his car for about 2 years without doing anything about it on his '00 or so Monte Carlo. Occasionally he would go out to his car and it wouldnt start and hed have to wait a few minutes before finally would. It was like a $300 plus fix at the dealer, so if it doesn't happen again, I might just leave it alone.
