Talking Brute Force Intake

Hey Guys,

Well I just got my AEM Brute Force Intake from 05xtcat and it's great. Extra power and a great rumble on Acceleration.

Tight fit but, sure cleans up the Engine compartment.
Enjoy the pics

Re: Brute Force Intake

Congrats.

That filter looks larger than my K&N. I love the sound difference it makes, as well as the added HP/mileage. Its win/win/win.

Enjoy,
Jake

Re: Brute Force Intake

Thanks man,

I was quite surprised at how large the filter was too. But it fits in there pretty snugly.

Cheers
Evan

Yeah that Brute Force looks narrower and longer than the K&N, while the K&N seems to be shorter and wider. I guess you could use a K&N cleaning/re-oiling kit on that when the time comes?

Re: Brute Force Intake

My Subaru had the same thing. I think it's supposed to help with low end torque. I didn't figure the V8 would need it but I guess every bit helps.

I believe it's a silencer. I've been told that piece and the piece below the intake are silencers to help control the intake noise to make it a little quiter.
Guess I'll take my Stock intake and sell it on eBay or something.

The later models (like mine) had it molded to the tube, and not an offshoot like that, but it is there, nonetheless

Re: Brute Force Intake

Molded? My old one was molded and not detachable; however, the bottom piece is detachable.

Re: Brute Force Intake

That filter looks like it been through a bit. You should update to AEMs new dry filter. It won't get so beat up looking over time. You just have to clean the filter occassionally and you don't ever have to worry about oiling it. Plus since it does not contain any oil it cannot cause the MAF sensor failure attributed to filter oil getting on the sensor. I just wanted to fill you in on the new filter in case you were unaware of its existance.

Re: Brute Force Intake

Hmmm... I like the no oiling part... I wonder if a Dryflow filter is available that will fit my K&N intake?
