Re: Aftermarket Head Unit Install Problems

maybe the Alpine isnt working properly? Just guessing there though.
Might contact Alpine and ask them if theirs compatability issues with the Ga's, they do use a varied wattages on their(GAs) speakers.
Theirs also an amp in the trunk , mines on the drivers side sidewall/inner fender area, that could be messing with the Alpine and not letting it turn on ,like a safty feature to keep from toasting the Alpine, they arent cheap, as you know.

I cant find an amp anywhere in the trunk or any where eles. unless its realy really hidden. would the base model have an amp? and i kno this alpine works i had it up and running perfect in my buick right befor i got this car. and i even tried my "Dual" cd player and that didnt power up either...is there a way i can hok up the power other than the line they give me for the stock radio?

If you hav the cd/equalizer I would think it has the amp. its on the , oh ya its behind the panel on the driverside in the trunk, unless they moved it after 04's.

You can get a pigy back connector and use the lighter power (which is constant) OR, the best way is to run it to a power in the fusebox or straight to the battery(with a fuseable link). Auto stores sell a pigy backs for fuses to hook up the extra power wire too, then the fuse plug into the pigyback.
But these units may be not working because of the speaker Ohm-age is wrong, and as a safty feature it doesnt power up or it might smoke something

You might hav to run new dedicated wires for the radio and speakers, it would work for sure then.
Good Luck and let us know what you find out
