car stalled after 40 secs. now wont start!?

ok today i flushed out the coolant system using directions from my hanes car bible and me and my dad went to start the car, it was up on ramps and it started up fine. it has been raining constantly today, but we were fully covered by a tarp, so was the engine bay. the car ran fine for like 40 seconds then it just stalled peacefully. now the engine will rotate but wont start. in other words it fires but wont turn over and run. is it out of gas? the gauge says its got half a tank, maybe the gas isnt gettin to the fuel rail or the float is stuck? distributor issue maybe with the dizzy or the rotor?

WTF!? lol help if you can, PLEASE-- if youve experienced this or have a better idea than me!. THaNKS

You go back to the basics and check for fuel and spark.
