problem with dash clock on 92 civic dx

i have had a problem with the dash clock on my 92 civic dx since i installed my sytem in my car early last year, now i am not exactly sure if the problem is in the clock itself or the car but eveytime i shut the car off the clock automaticly restarts itself, it is acting more as a timer(kinda neat also cause i can time my trip to work with it as long as i dont shut my car off)than a clock. i was wondering, if they screwed somthing up along the way when they hooked my radio up that caused the clock to do this or if maybe there was a safety feature in the car (kinda like 96's interior light when you change the stereo) that goes into effect once the radio and such are changed. this has puzzled me cause i am debating on buying another clock to replace this one. any help with this is appreciated

Re: problem with dash clock on 92 civic dx

Nothing wonky like the 96's in a 92. Sounds like the memory wire (12 V constant power) is either out or accidentally got re-wired to 12 v ignition (power on only when car is on). If you had someone else install the system, and you're noticing this only after the install was done, I'd take it to whoever did the installation and have them look it over. They should do it for free if it was a result of the install. But if it isn't...they may charge you for labor/troubleshooting.

7.5 amp fuse under the hood by the battery feeds the clock/stereo
