Cost to replace fuel injectors

I own a 1995 Maxima SE and I brought it in because the engine was misfiring. The diagnosis was a bad fuel injector, the mechanic recommends to replace all six injectors and the cost is $1300. To replace just one is around $563 due to the labor involved since they have to take all of them out to replace it. Does this sound right?

- Mileage over 100k?
- First, get second opinion =diagnosis. Misfire may have (also) other cause(s). Depends on how thorough the diagnosis was: bad plugs, coilpack(s), corroded inj connectors behave 'like' bad injectors.

- My opinion: pricey. Verify: Call stealership servicedesk and ask for quotation work/parts; then have the thing done with half price in a reliable recommended shop.
- one BIG question is those 'to-be' used injectors; new or reman ...ppl say reman fail fast.

Re: Cost to replace fuel injectors

Yeah, that actually sounds about right. If indeed it is the fuel injectors (i agree, you might want to get a second opinion) then you should just get them all replaced. They do have to take the whole thing out, and for twice the price, you can just get all new ones. I was dumb, and just got the one replaced, only to find out they all needed it 6 months later. Chances are, if one is going out, they're all going to go out soon, so you might as well get them all done.

Re: Cost to replace fuel injectors

Actually, I was just curious. How hard is it to just take them out yourself? Anyone know?
