failed smog in cali, here are the results!

I failed my smog test today, I have a 91 Honda civic, and here are the results:

%co2 $O2 HC CO NO
Meas Meas Max Meas Max Meas Max Meas
15mph 14.8 0.1 130 182 0.80 0.12 835 2185
25mph 14.7 0.1 105 132 0.69 0.27 774 1176

btw on they said it faild fuel cap functional test, and ingnition timing, I am pretty sur I adjusted the timing right and also how did they test the fuel cap? this car had a head gasket problem and was driven for a while before I bought and fixed it so I guess the main suspect is the cat. converter? what do you guys think...

it probably failed the fule cap test due to a non venting cap, just get a new one.

you're "chart" is kinda hard to read but your Nox are very high. And i dunno wtf Meas means lol. I can seriously help you out if you make it easier for me to read.

sorry about the chart, when I was writing it there were spaces and tabs to make it easier to read but after posting it thats how it came out, well meas is measured and basically my Nox is way off the chart max allowed for 15mph is 835 it measured 2185 and at 25mph max is 774 and it measured 1176, also my Hc was high max allowed at 15mph is 130 it measured 182 and at 25mph max is 105 and it measured 132. my CO, CO2 and O2 levels are all pretty normal! I personally think my cat is shot cause off the driving while water was leaking into the pistons cause of the bad head gasket, but I am not so sure. your help is appreciated,

Two things 02 sensor and cat repl both. When you blew the HG you got antifreeze on the O2 sensor it is probably bad.
Double check your timing (Can raise NOx if advanced to far)
De-carbonize (If build-up is bad can raise NOx)
And as for the gas cap it failed because it will not hold pressure.

For your 02 reading it should be 0.0 if your cat is good.

well HC are hydrocarbons, cause from unburn fuel, so possibly your car is running rich, and nox are created with heat, so coudl be signs of a bad cat.

your o2 readings should not read 0.0 dont listen to that dude.

Ummm, well your 02 reading should be 0.0 if your cat is good and your smogtest warmed up the cat to it's full efficiency. Either the 15mph or the 25mph should go to 0.0 during the test. Hybrid you are right not all the time is the 02 reading is going to be 0.0 . EGR and AIS will raise the 02 levels.

yeah mine was way over on the NOx too, GP status (Gross Polluter, not Grand Prix haha), got a new cat and o2 (after i passed it haha) i just used G2P (Guaranteed 2 Pass) that stuff cut my numbers in half and once it warmed up the dude tested it and it passed (barely). that stuff works, and my running rich was a bad ECU.
