Thumbs up Idler pulley

I have a 2000 Grand Caravan with a 3.3 L engine. How do release the tension on the belt or idler pulley and how do I get to it? I can't where to adjust the idler pulley.

To release the tension you must remove the belt from the tensioner. You can do this with a box wrench ( I think it's a #15 metric). Put the wrench on the bolt that holds on the pulley and pull it toward you, then slide the belt off the idler pulley and release the tensioner. It is easier to slde the belt off the idler that the tensioner. It's easier if you have someone slide the belt off the idler when you are holding the wrench. The tensioner has a very powerful spring. The wrench you use should be a little offset to get a good hold on the bolt, a ratchet will not work since it will probably get wedged against the frame. I believe there isn't any adjustments on the pulleys.
What kind of problem are you having?
