Hi Guys,
I'm sorta a n00b with performance, mods ... etc. However I'm getting there. I added a freeflow + branch to my Tib and also had a unichip added and dyna tuned. Brought me up from 185nm/106Kw to 202nm/119kw and gave it a more sporty sound ;-) I have question though, I see in the manual it says you MUST NOT put more than 60% rich coolant into the engine. No where can I find how much the radiator takes, so I cannot work out how much to add. Would putting pure coolent into the engine cause any damage? (glycol based coolant). As far as I understand rust/scale forms with water, especially the highly processed water we have. If there is only coolant, no rust, no scale? Regards Nigel |

Re: Engine Coolent vs. Water
I would not recommend putting in a higher concentration than what the manual recommends. It might cause your engine to run cooler than it's supposed to. If you can't find the capacity, just use a small measuring cup and mix the water and coolant 50/50 before you pour it into the radiator. For example, I have one that's about 1 liter, so I fill it halfway with coolant, then the other half with water and use that to fill the radiator and overflow. Or, you can usually find coolant that's already mixed 50/50.

Re: Engine Coolent vs. Water
Just drain the coolant & premix it. That way you're sure.

Re: Engine Coolent vs. Water
the 2.0 takes about 7 liters and the 2.7 takes about 8 liters and i personaly woundn't buy the premixed stuff for the reason of you are paying them for water and you get less antifreeze and its like the same price rip off
