VW tools??????

I'm thinking of buying a '95 jetta with 75k on the motor, 5 spd and some upgrades.
only concern i have is I heard that you need lots of specialties tools to work on volkswagens, is this true???

Sort of. But most are cheap and readily available at auto parts stores. Or. you can improvise and/or make them yourself. Don't let the "special tools" deter you, you'll save much more $ than the cost of any tool for any job you do yourself. Check http://www.germanautoparts.com/ if you want to see some of the more common things needed.

there really arent any 'special tools" needed for mk3's cept for tdi timing belt. and upper strut mounts/strut nut.
