1989 Sho

I have a 1989 SHO, and the clutch throw out bearing makes noice when it is cold outside and the clutch is pressed in. Repair guy said it could last 2+ years, if I am lucky though. However I am thinking about just selling it. Do you think $800 is a good price or should I ask for more??? Or should I just keep it and fix when/if clutch goes out? The rest of the car shows wear of course, but runs great. 200,000 miles and the engine still doesn't burn oil. Just wondering...

You can always ask more. If someone thinks $800 is a reasonable offer, then they'll think they got a good deal and it sounds like you won't feel you got hurt.

Without seeing the car, no one will be able to give you a realistic valuation of your car. Is there any rust on the body? Are all suspension components tight? Does the paint shine? How straight are the body panels? Ever had any body damage? How is the interior? What options do you have? Would the car pass emissions?

Check out a site like Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com) and see what a private party price range is. Also check Edmunds. And you can always look on eBay to see what similar SHOs have sold for in the recent past.

You also need to think about what it would cost you to replace the clutch and keep a car you probably enjoy versus what you would spend on a different car that you don't have any idea the history of.
