hesitation

i have a 1990 240 with sohc motor and when i press on the gas really hard it sputters and feels like it is going to cut off and when im driving when i change gears i can feel it hesitate and then it will start accelerating

check your spark plugs and or change your plug wires

i did that ive cleaned the aiv put fuel injector cleaner in it twice replaced the fuel filter replaced the throttle posistion sensor

you might have water getting in somewhere.. try driving it around granny style for a few days then see if it persists..

its been doing it since i got the car around last april and i cant figure out what is causing it do you think it might be something with the fuel

yeah it could be delivery.. i guess the easiest way to test would be listening for the fuel pump.. if you can hear it then that means there's pressure.. next would be the filter. there aren't many ways to test it, so you could just buy a new one and throw it in (very cheap part and 10 minute install).. after that, injectors.. you could try a tank with injector cleaner and see if that all makes any difference.. all in all that fix would be about $20-25.. see whats goin on..

hey did thta fuel pump ever fix the problem cause mine sdoin the same bull crap. and mines a 93 also do you hear a bubbleing noise when ur car is off and sitting for a few?? hey check my post if u havent figed it out maybe soem1 will post soemthin there l8er..

no i havent had my car for the past couple of days its been in the body shop no its not making a bubbling noise that i no of when i get it back i listen for it i should be geting it back in a day or 2

lol were u talkin about my posyt? i dun use spell check cant seem to fig it out... ne way sr20detpower i was wondering if you made a swap? i wanna swap the sr20det into my 93 240 but still hesitant because of my lack of info about it, and not sure wheres a good place to purchase a sr20det. The sites ive visted it always seems liek there tryin to rip u off in soem way, for example sr20det complete package 2,000 and then they list what comes with, well if i dont know what ineed how the hell am i supposed to know what should coem with it, is the sr20det turboed? should it coem with the turbo, these and many more are questions i would liek to know, basicly i need to know everythign about the sr20det and will it fit thta about does it any info will be of some help thnx all
