Gigantic Temperature Gauge

Just curious.......I've seen oversized tachometer gauges on racer type cars. Just wondering if they have something like that for engine temperature, maybe even with a warning indicator like a noise maker or bright light. It seems like most overheating cases occur and you are not aware. When I do some serious off roading especially in Baja, I have a tendency to pay close attention to the terrain, but if I had a big ass temperature gauge on my dash, right in the line of fire of my windshield, I could easily keep an eye on my temp.
