99 Marquis - Brake job cost?

Hello - I am just wondering about the approximate cost to get the brakes done on one of these? I have had the car about two and a half years, and its time for new pads. Any idea what I am looking at in the way of actual pricing to take it to the local Ford shop for brakes?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I don't know the cost but I had my son in law replace mine. The pads he got from auto zone or one of the other stores caused the brakes to squeal . He replaced them twice (they were exchanged) I still had the squeal. Finally I went to ford and got ford pads , no more squeal. I guess the off brand pads were to hard.

Why would you want to take it to a ford dealer for brakes and pay double for parts? If your car only needs front and rear pads you're looking at around $60-$80 in parts, if it also needs new rotors ad another $40-$60 per rotor and maybe another $25 for parking brake shoses if the rear rotors need to come off, since most of the time the parking brake shoses get damaged with removal of the rear rotors.

My son in law did all of the labor. I was talking about the quality of the pads. To prevent the squeaking I had to buy the pads from Ford.

Smile Re: 99 Marquis - Brake job cost?

Thanks for the info, guys. Since I dont have any tools and live in an apartment, I thought it would be best to take it someplace where the job could be done properly. Buying the parts wont do me any good, and I dont want to mess with trying to talk a buddy into doing it since I dont want any problems to occur that aren't covered on a warranty. I'll just call them and see how much they say... I guess that would have been the easiest.
