Help!!! Suspension and brake Problems
Hey everyone im new to this forum and i have a couple questions about my truck because from the sound of it i got the worst year for a blazer.
Ive been reading on here and most everyone here has said to stay away from superlift 2" lift... well thats what i have on my 95 blazer ive only had the lift on for about 4 months and im loosing brake pressure when i turn and according to my mechanic he said i had bad ball joints and idle arms and pitmon arms and front axles because of that brake lines are get smashed on the control arms and thats what is causing this. I had new ball joints and tie-rods put on when i had the lift put on, is this what im gonna expect with this lift all the time? is there some mods i can do to stop this from happening? Does the Trailmaster 5" do the same thing? Second question is I had Bought an MSD ignition Box installed it but the truck was having problems so i took it out, now the engine is pretty much sound and run good Ive been told that the MSD doesnt help it. Is this true? or does it just need the rest of the MSD parts to work properly? (i.e. MSD Distributor, MSD Ignition Coil) Third Question Whats the gas mileage normally for a 95 4.3L Vortec V6 CPI? Because i only seem to be getting like 10-12 mpg Anything Other Recommendations for performance parts and things to look for would be great. Thanks

Re: Help!!! Suspension and brake Problems
If you were stock you might get better fuel economy .But with a chip and your other mods tend to make our foot be heavier than normal . My mods caused a drop in mileage but I love the way it feels .Big tires change how you calculate mileage , For 31 inchers you must add 6% to the odometer over 235/75/15
example 100 miles on the ticker equals true mileage 106 . I have a fabtech 2 inch lift on mine with no problems you mention but mine came with new upper control arms at a different angle than stock . My tire rubs on my brake line holder on one side . Although I have more than my share of electrical quirks. Your truck looks great with thoses mudders . Rob

Your 4x4 Tires are OverKill
Sorry but I had to add that.. I have GoodYear RT Wranglers OWL P235 75R15
tires and I only get 19 on the highway. I get about 15-16 in the city. I have been looking for Perilli SUV Tires They are the best and I haven't found any around this area of the eastcoast since 1992. I have been told that Michelin are the same as GoodYears. Twenty -nine years ago I owned a 1976 Oldsmobile Cutless Salon and I had 4 Perilli Tires they were 75R tires and I remember driving in really bad roads with nails and screws and bolts and once a had a slow leak and my garage mechniac told me if it was any other tire besides Perilli I would have been "DEAD".. He took out a nail and a bolt and showed me. In 1999 I had a blow out with my Chevy Blazer and the Wrangler RT tire and it was ripped to pieces over a piece of broken glass... I had to replace it . It was the only time I had a problem with the GoodYear RT Wranglers OWL P235 75R15 tires. |

Re: Your 4x4 Tires are OverKill
The reason your probably going through suspension parts is because the parts put on were of low quality. I used to always buy my parts from autozone... advanced auto... and the other places like that. They offer a lifetime warranty. I replaced my idler arm 4 times and paid for 4 alignments with these parts. A mechanic buddy of mine told me to use moog and only moog. Guess what... never replaced a ball joint, idler arm, or a pitman arm in 45K miles, and its still holding up strong and as tight as it was when the parts were new. Before i was changing this stuff every 7K or so. Remember, you get what you pay for. They build one tight idler arm!
