What direction should I take?

Okay.....I have a 1993 Mustang LX Notchback.....The transmission blew out for the third time. I want to change things around in it for a cheap price.
Right now it has a rather unique 4 cyl engine, 8 spark plugs for a four cylinder. I was thinkign of going with a 5.0 with a few mods to it. Could you guys help me out and tell me exactly what I need to change in this poor car so that it can handle a bigger engine like this. I was thinking of going to a junk yard and getting the 5.0 and rebuild it. Also how hard would it be to change the automatic over to a manual?

Re: What direction should I take?

you can turbo the i4 and do a nice suspention setup and have a rather quick car that will also handle very well (i4 will keep a nice weight balance)
