How to fiberglass a leather dash board?

I've searched the forum and learned the easiest way to have a custom dash is using primer and sandpaper repeatedly.... but what if the dash is leather? How can you customize a leather dash? My friend has a leather dash, and its a nasty navy blue color and we're tryna find a way to change it up. Thanks

I would suggest removing the leather off of the dash itself, then scrap off all the foam and excess. After that sand it down tills its somewhat smooth and get some sort of poly cloth material. Stretch it across the dash and I would suggest staple gunning it under the dash. Make sure ALL wrinkles are out unless you want to it to look bad. After the poly cloth is stretched over nice and tight, take a cheap paint brush and clip the hairs till they are around 1 inch is what I think people recommend. After that dab the brush in the resin/hardner mix and apply it to the cloth. Make sure the cloth is soaked all the way through, but not dripping. After that allow it to harden. Cut out the sections that need to be removed to apply electronics and then apply 5-6 layers of fiberglass to strengthen the mold. After this is done, apply a techniglaze or body filler such as bondo *I would recommened Bondo Glass, its fiberglass reinforced bondo* and sand it smooth after it dries. This will prevent any flex of the fiberglass. Now your dash should have a nice smooth surface, run over it one last time with 1000 grit sand paper and then primer it to make sure there are no swirl marks and its even. If it looks good, paint and clear coat it...if not, repeat the bondo portion till its to your liking.

Do you meen actual leather? Or that leather tectured vinyl shit??? I have the vinyl shit in the mustang i just bought and i want to know if the above techinque would work for my dash too? Also i have to figure something out for the door panels, right now everything is poo brown (inside and out ) so i gotta do soemthing about it.

95% of the time its the plastic vinyl shit covering the dash.
