Performance Modifications

What type of custom aftermarket performance mods has anyone done to these cars.

Looking for Ideas: (Especially the 4.0L V8)

For example,

Superchargers?
Cold Air Intake?
Suspension?
Brakes?
Body Kits?

Re: Performance Modifications

Exhaust seems to be a relatively common upgrade, but I'm hoping for a supercharger upgrade sometime. I know Carrol Shelby used the Aurora V8 in the Shelby Series 1, and there was a supercharged version of that avaliable, but I don't know of any other place that offers those types of upgrades.

Would love to put a supercharher on. Had a 2000 Buick Ultra that was supercharged and loved it. can only imagine what the 4.0L would be like supercharged. Was sooking at the space requirements the other day though and was trying to figure out where to put one.

Re: Performance Modifications

That's the problem with the Aurora's. If you wanted to add an SC, you'd have to bump the hood if you went roots style (and I don't know of _any_ intakes that are avaliable for that), or dump the AC and use a centrifugal type SC. Turbo's are almost out of the question, due to the plumbing that'd be required in that cramped engine bay.

One of my pet projects that I'd like to do if I had a bunch of funds would be to convert an Aurora to RWD, put in a beefy transmission, and then do some major engine mods. The only problem with that scenario is that there's so many other performance-oriented vehicles that you could buy with that kind of money, that it almost makes it pointless (unless you _really_ want a sleeper to mess with people).

Re: Performance Modifications

I'm enamored by the melodic sound of the v-8 and would like to open it up more. Are there any intake pieces or just an open short ram filter for our cars. A nice exhaust system would sound good, but this v-8 has a destintive intake sound that I don't want overshadowed by loud exhaust.

Are there any aftermarket exhaust sound clips of auroras to help me decide on getting it or not?

Re: Performance Modifications

I've heard that the Corsa exhaust avaliable for the Cadillac STS, DTS, etc can be adapted to the Aurora. Not sure how much work that is, if there are any performance gains or not, or what the cost is.

They sure do sound nice though :
