Stange Audio Performance '93 850GLT
Just bought this car. Its Great! Other than the radio which lets out this strange hiss every time there is a high treble noise, cymbal crash, or when someone talking uses S or T etc. It is a noise beyond just having the treble set to high and I have tinkered with those settings to try and reduce the noise which is actually louder than the radio volume. Anyone have similar problems, know what causes this, and or how to fix it? I would like to keep the stereo stock and just hook my ipod into a radio frequency for road trips because the speakers seem fine. Otherwise we usually just listen to the radio, but god is it getting annoying! thanks in advance.

Re: Strange Audio Performance '93 850GLT
The sound goes through everything. Radio, tape, ipod.
The left side front speakers have now packed it in. just a loose wire likely. An audio store guy told me the problem might be amp is nearly fried, which I guess could happen after 15 odd years of use. I have also heard possibly that wires are running too close together from the console and causing the piercing interference. anyway, more crucial problems with the car now. new thread coming. |

if you have them running over power wires maybe what volvo radio is it? it should say something like SC-810 on the front of it.
