2002 Montana

A friend of mine is looking at a 2002 Montana (i don't know the specs).....but another friend (a mechanic) tells me the vehicle is nothing but trouble. Anyone have any views, pro or con, about the Montana?? I have also heard bad review on Chev Venture vans.

Re: 2002 Montana

Don't walk away RUN!!!!!!
I own 2 of them 99 and 02 and I would not in honest concious recommend them. I am considered a handy person and everytime I look at them I cringe. I just spent past 3 days replacing intake gasket on my 99, I replaced same thing on my 02 last year took me 4 days. Yes it should not have taken that many hours but I was doing it at easy pace and It is not the easiest vehicle to work on.
I don't think GM will ever see my face again in their show room.
BTW Montanas and Ventures are same PIS with 3.4 engine.

I have owned a 1991 Lumina APV & a 1995 Trans Port and now drive a 2000 Montana and my wife drives a 2002 Aztek. We have loved them all although the Lumina had a few wiper problems after 100,000 miles.
