Won't Start

My parents just bought a 2001 Jetta manual 4cyl on Tuesday. Well it's been starting fine and running fine since then. I've never driven a stick shift so I've been practicing the last couple of days before I go out. Well I got home from school today, took it out, went around the neighborhood once everything goes fine, then I have a hill on part of my driveway and I was practicing taking off up it because that seems to be hard. So I do it once everything's fine, I go around my driveway and try it again, I stall it at the top of the hill. Figure everything's fine because I've stalled it before so I just try to start it again, nothing happens. I notice that the MIL and Generator (Red batter light) are turned on in the dash. Any kind of help would be great. Thanks, Brent.
