gas guage

hey guys. my gas guage isnt working that well . when i fill the tank up it works for about 10 minutes or untill i turn my car off . has anyone ever had this problem or could antone help me with it. and if its the flaotie thing i have another one on my hatch should i just swap them and see if it works. thanks

I had a 90 civic. When I filled my tank, It worked. I drove about 10 miles and rhe gauge went to empty. Then after about 50 moles it worked right on the dot. I repl my fuel gauge in the dash and that fixed my problem
