350 v8 swapout

Heya all,
I have a 1993 4wd chevy silverado ext cab 5.7l, with a bad knock in the motor. I have had a few people tell me that the motor is done for, and get ready to replace it. I also have an 1988 silverado with a 5.0l that only has 40k on it. I'd like to swap the 88 into the 93. they are both 4wd, but the 88 is a single cab. Will it fit? should I do the transfer case tranny and everything? what are the difficult parts of this?

Thanks for ANY advice

Act

Re: 350 v8 swapout

It should bolt right in with minimal problems seeing as how there isn't much of a difference in years.

You will have to change the ecm, but other than that like jeverett said it will bold right in.

Re: 350 v8 swapout

what are you doing with the 88? Would you like to get rid of it? If so where are you located?

Those 305's aren't the most powerful engine on the planet, but, man, they sure do last a long time
