vw 7H0035191A navigation unit

Have just ordered this unit with a new caravelle. It seems to be fitted to a lot of VW and other makes in various modes but who actually makes it and how good is it. I didn’t want a unit that sat on top of dash and am a complete newcomer to this technology. I hope to use it in Europe later this year and locally (I think it uses postcode info) My local van centre only quotes VW part numbers to me and seems unable to really help.
I really want to know if it’s an ok unit and how upgradeable it is going to be. Any one had any experience with this type and specifically this model. Your help would be appreciated. Cheers Alan
