Question Tmesis...Anyone...Please Help!

Well I am back again with the same problem I had last week and was wondering if any one else out there might have a anwser for me. I did a search to see if any one has had the code 84 and one person name TMESIS did. I have tried to PM him with no luck and email didn't work and wanted to see if this would catch his eye. He said he changed the PCM for this and I wanted to know if it had fixed his Aurora. Since last week I have been having the car slam in gear if going from Park to Reverse or Drive. The same with Neutral to Reverse or Drive. Reverse slams the hardest as if getting hit really hard by a 18-wheeler in the rear. I took it to Advance to have the codes read and the following came up:
------------------------------
Diag. Trouble Codes

History Code 60
Cruise Engaged With
Car Not In Drive

History Code P0117
Q D S M #3 Output
Open or Shorted

History Code 84
Ign System Problem
Too Few 24x Sensor
Reference Pulses

Current Code 84
Ign System Problem
Too Few 24x Sensor
Reference Pulses
---------------------------------
Had Advance Auto erase code in Computer. Car drove like new again until I got about five miles down the road and the problem came back. I took it back and the following code was read again.
--------------------------------
Current Code 84
Ign System Problem
Too Few 24x Sensor
Reference Pulses
--------------------------------
I had them look for this code in the Code book they had for this car or others that apply. This Code was not found. They have seem to have Code 83 and 85...but no 84. What is up with this? Please Help Somebody. Thanks in Advance!!!

Re: Tmesis...Anyone...Please Help!

Hey man I just did my egr valve clean.I forgot to plug in temp sensor and got those same codes.I kind of knew it was that because my temp gage wasnt working. Sometimes I wander about that Actron scanner.I dont know if it works right on Auroras.I took my codes to a GM mechanic, and he just scratched his head.I also had a code(according to the Actron scanner)PO102 Brake booster sensor.Guess what? No such thing.lol

I have the actron scanner with the OBDII cable and I am not convinced that it works right. Actually I know it doesn't work right. I've been thinking about sending them an email. I also get erroneous codes.

Re: Tmesis...Anyone...Please Help!

HALO - I did change my ECU in my Aurora and it fixed the problem. I have the SuperAutoScanner also and it seems to work fine on my other cars. The only other place that I found this error was at a transmission shop froumn and they change the ECU and it fixed it for them too. I found an ECU on Ebay for cheap and it worked fine. Hope that helps.

Did it work on your car before you changed the ECM?

My Scanner has always worked. I got the same codes that you have. I believe that these codes are bogus but they are comming from the ECU not the scanner. All I did was change the ECU and all the hard shifting problems have gone away.
