95 Windstar No Heat HELP!!!

My wife's 95 Windstar with a 3.8L engine stopped heating when it used to work fine. The blower runs, the coolant level is full, I just replaced the thermostat tonight and it made no difference.

I've tried it on all the different settings on the control panel and it doesn't help.

Any ideas?

I just went through this recently on my 99 Windstar.
I think there's a good chance your problem is caused by either a failed blend door actuator or a failed blend door itself.

The blend door actuator is a $50 part located behind the radio - a white plastic part about the size of a deck of cards. It's the motor that turns the blend door to control the temperature

The blend door is internal to the "heat box" plenum and may require the entire heat box to be replaced which is very expensive. Alas, this was my problem and it cost me nearly $2,000 to have it replaced - a tough pill (bill) to swallow!

If you search this forum you'll find this is a very common problem and you'll find lot's of info on replacing the blend door actuator, photos, etc...

Good luck!

(I do not know if your 1995 model differs from 1999 in this regard.)
