How-to test fuel pressure on my 90 CRX Si?

How do I test it? A friend brought over his fuel pressure guage and we couldn't find the shraeder valve to screw it onto. I think someone mentioned that I have to take off the "service bolt" on top of the fuel filter, but do I need some sort of adapter fitting, to screw the fuel pressure guage on to?
Thanks!
I THINK my fuel pressure is causing my problems with the hesitation and backfiring through the air intake. We set the timing, and it set and advanced perfectly, so...we're going to start from the fuel pump and work our way forward.

there should be a screw on the fuel rail. Lokks like a valve stem to a tire. Get a fuel pressure gauge and put it on there and start the car. I dont know what psi it should be at. when its started rev it out a couple of times, If the pressure drops then it could be a fuel pump problem

Now, I know for a fact, that's a big NO, the service bolt is FOR SURE on the filter..but I don't know if I'm just supposed to take the guage off the hose and screw it directly onto the filter, or if I'm supposed to get an adapter...

I got an adapter for mine and put it on the top of the fuel rail permanently. It tee's off into the inlet for the fuel rail and i put a gauge onto it. A good $50 benefit to me and my old hatch

its been awhile but i think i paid like $20 for a b&m fuel pressure guage which i screwed right on top of my fuel filter, yeah it would definately be sexier on the fuel rail tho.. im soon in the market for aem high volume fuel rail with regulator and pressure guage.

there should be a screw on top of the fuel rail. Not the fuel filter. That way takes a little bit more for time. There should be a cap on the fuel rail. Take that off and put the gauge on that. Under the cap it looks like the top of a valve stem to a tire. You can buy an after market and leave it on there or go to a part store and buy one. Ask for a fuel pressure gauge.

Re: How-to test fuel pressure on my 90 CRX Si?

shit im sorry, i was so busy in lab today with my own car i forgot to check it out. ill do it tomorrow though for sure, i promise.

but i have a feeling youre going to need an adapter like 91civichatch2571 said, cause I know for a fact that 88-91 fuel rails dont have the schraeter valve for a easy hook up.
