A Cvic

Hey guys I'm interested in buying a Honda Civic this summer/fall. Planning to spend $6000-$7000 on a used one. An using it as a project car. I was wondering which year and model would be good for this purpose. In the end I want this car to be one slick machine.

Go with an EX 2 door manual. The SI would ultimately be the better one, but you probably wont find a good one for 6 or 7 grand. The EX has 127 hp stock, and the SI has 160hp. Both can be boosted and tuned to over 350whp depending on what you want to do.

does the year matter? I mean does the 96 Civic EX have less stock hp then the 00 model?

The 96 ex has the same whp as a 00 ex. I have an ex turbod. With the stock internals, fuel pump, fuel rail, pressure regulater, and inj, timing retarded 2 degrease, on 89 pump gas, I got 238whp and 196twp.

Re: A Cvic

it might be better to get a 5th gen. this way if you want to due an engine swap there may be less emission problems(more avalable swaps).

if i could boost any car in the world though it would be my 98 EX(d16y8). i love it, even if it is slow right now.
