Security Light while engine is running
My 01 Yukon SLT just recently started giving me a steady security light while the engine is running. there seems to be no problems with how the truck performs. This doesnt happen all the time, only about 4 or 5 times. When I shut the engine down and start up again the light disappears. Anyone have any Ideas?

Re: Security Light while engine is running
Hey rickefel:
I have the same problem. It is because of the auto-starter I have. The passlock module is going bad and causes the security light to activate. Sometimes it won't let me start my truck. I think the fix is to replace the passlock unit with a different brand. Let me know if you find one that works. |

Re: Security Light while engine is running
I had the same troube. Evidently the passlock system fails and bypasses the fuel pump??? Had the whole system checked out - pump pressure good - so replaced the passlock system. A month later I'm having the same trouble after spending 500.00 to solve it. It seems that if you open and shut all of the doors - and pray to the god of ignitions that it will start again. I'm ready to burn the truck because it has stranded me 3 times - then magically starts when the flatbed comes. At least i just got stranded in the parking lot and not on the beach.
Good luck let me know about the brand change and i will research bypassing the whole system. |
