1972 Ford Capri RS2600

Hi

Here are some pictures of a 1:43 scale model of the 1972 Ford Capri RS2600 that finsished 10th at Le Mans at an average speed of just under 103mph, not bad for a saloon car in 1972!

The model was built about a year ago and the white decals were very tricky, the bonnet in particular being a nightmare. Using micsrosol and microset it eventually went on not too bad.

If I ever get an air brush I think I may attempt doing colour schemes like this one by masking instead.

I didn't clearcoat it because I have yet to try this and I was worried it might go wrong and ruin the model.

It still isn't completed, bonnet pins and side exit exhaust still to be added!

I have included some photos during decal application, the model wasn't very detailed apart from having a rollcage inside.

Any comments welcome for this newbie.

Cheers

Darren

Thanks for the comment.

I have always been interested in the ETCC cars since I went to my first motor race which was the Silverstone TT in 1984 when the TWR XJS's were at their peak. I also think the early seventies cars with their fared in arches looked great. You may have noticed the BMW 2002 (also 1972) in Fluorescent yellow behind the Capri which has been painted but that's about it so far. I need to try and make time to actually complete some more!
