pcv valve

DoctorBill, I don't think we have the same PCV valve. Mine has the conical shape on one side, and the O-ring on the other. As some models vary form year to year, maybe it would be easier to ask the question, which way should the valve allow air to flow? Should it allow air from the lower TB to return to the air cleaner shroud, or should it allow air from the air cleanre shroud into the lower throttle body?

Does anybody understand the why's of this part? It would be nice to know.

Jai

DieInterim, the shape of the pcv valve in the photo is exactly the same as mine. From your description of the placement of the O-ring, I would assume that it would be found on the left side of the photo, which is the conical shaped side. Mine is not. The O-ring is on the left side, in this photogarph, on the side that looks like it should pop into a hose.

Taking the valve to my mouth and blowing through it, it easily lets air travel through when blowing through the right side. When I try to blow through the left (conical shaped) side, I find that it is very difficult, and only a small amount passes through. So, it seems, fromwhat you say, that the conical shaped end should go into the intake manifold. I guess the O-ring on mine is different. Do I have it right?

Thanks for the help.

Jai
