What would you get charged
I just changed the clutch, slave cylinder, and the hydrolic line on a 90 ranger and was wondering how much a regular shop would charge for labor on a job like this so i can charge appropriatly

Re: What would you get charged
You need to take into account the shop has a lot more overhead than you do. They need to charge the prices so they can afford to stay in business. If you are doing it at your house, the price you charge is dependant on what the customer is willing to pay. I worked at my house for years, and the reason people came to me was because they did not want to pay the flat rate fee shops charge. So put a price on your time, little markup on the parts(if you got them) and the customer will return. If you charge the same as a shop, it won't be long before your customers figure that out and will go to shops because of the liability and insurance factors. Good luck.

Re: What would you get charged
I know what you mean, my intention was to find out what the flat rate would be and charge 1/2 to 3/4 of that price for the labor. I would never charge what a shop would for work in my garage.

Re: What would you get charged
What is your time worth to you? Charge by the time you spent on the vehicle. I always charged by the amount of beer I had in refrigerator. Less beer, higher rate.
