Unhappy compass

i recently installed an overhead console in my 1998 blazer. I have tryed calibrating the compass many times, but nothing works. The screen shows 0 C cal NE. I have set the variance correctly. And i tryed holding in ON/OFF and US/MET buttons for 10 seconds. It continues to show 0 C cal NE. I drive in 3- 360 circles around 5 mph. Nothing happens after that.

any help would be great
Thanks

I assume you have properly tapped it to the VSS circuit, that said, hold both buttons at the same time til it says CAL, ignore anything else till it says that, it may be more than 10 seconds.. Then drive to your right in a very tight circle (full lock is best). I had to go 7 times till mine caught.

If yours still refuses to do that, I would suspect you're not tied into the VSS properly.

Re: compass

OC means open circuit, your temp sensor isn't connected correctly, or the temp sensor has a bad ground.

Your vss connection may not be good as well.
