2000 1500 ram stalling/dies out
ive gone through all 2000 posts and i havent seen my problem so here it goes....my truck stalls whenever im NOT on the gas. whether its in park, drive, or neutral. if im on the gas it just bucks....hard but stays on. when it does stall it will start right back up like new. the truck has never left me stranded so its not a starting system issue. its just hard to trun when the truck dies out. the gas gage also bounses around, i replaced the pump and sending unit, but it still does it. every now and then ill get the P0601 code (pcm internal control failer), but it seems to not have anything to do with the stalling. (meaning it wont stall more or less if the light is on) ive replaced: fuel pump, tps, crank sensor, IACV, O2, tune up, even trans filter. i spent all day today checking all the sensors today one by one with a multimeter. one thing i notice is when i disconected the pcv vac hose the truck wont die it will just bog down to about 250 rpm and then back up to idle. id appreciate the help, thanks rick.
also where in the hell is the egr valve. i cant find it to save my life....ive literally crawled around the engine more than once and cant find the sucker. |

champ plugs, dont remember the #. i thought it could be a plugged converter, so i took out the front o2 sensor and it still died in the driveway. battery and alt are showing 14.5-14.9. no other check engin codes, and like i said the engin codes are only on about.....id say 5% of the time the truck is on. the mil is not even on long enough to get it scanned with the light on.

Taking the front sensor out is no guarantee. I'm here to tell you that.
I took my front sensor out, this was years ago by the way. No dice. Cut the converter off and the truck fired up like it was some kind of funny joke, and it's been running ever since. User 1thunder here likes that diagnosis. Maybe he'll be around shortly with your answer.
