cavalier clutch help PLEASE

Okay I am new to this so hope this works, I recently bought a 01 Z24 cavalier problem is the other day i came out of work ready to drive home and out of no where my RPMS were racing but I was moving really slow, I went ahead and bleeded my clutch b/c when i put my air intake in the master cylinder came off the mount and i was worried it may of had gotten air into it....heres the problem now when i put it into gear it wont go at all i can even put it in first and let the clutch go and the engine still runs is this my clutch? Could it possibly be some electrical? I have a short in my batter cable i havent fixed yet. Also is there any way to adjust the clutch or do i have to replace it? And if i have to replace it where can i get one cheap thanks guys

well you could of blew your clutch to pieces. Depends on how far you let your rpms get up when it started slipping. Best bet is to take the tranny off and see whats going on and make sure that everything is cool. also if you don't want to go through that yet make sure the slave cylinder is good and clean.

Re: cavalier clutch help PLEASE

is it hard to put it into gear when at any RPM? turn the car off and try to put it into all the gears...if you have trouble putting it into gears when the car is off its the spider valves or something like that (what my machanic told me)

i think that you should check your shift linkage if you can put it where first is supposed to be and it doesnt move or stall

NEW PROBLEM
Thanks guys i had the clutch replaced cuz i didnt have the tools to pull the engine to replace it and it went out like 2 days before my college classes started up and i had to work on top of the fact that i have no idea how. Anyways got the car back and it was really hard to shift and the clutch seemed really loose, well i bled the clutch and that fixed it a little bit still not as smooth when shifting but now it has gotten worse i shifted into 3rd today and it made this grinding noise really loud so for the rest of the drive today i just went from 2 to 4th gear well now it grinds only in 1 and 2nd. Whats going on here? And its hard to shift again sometimes i cant get it into first when at stop lights and have to start in second....however it was shifting fine before i took it in got any ideas ???????? THANKS

Re: cavalier clutch help PLEASE

take it back to the guy who installed. I've heard of people the plate in backwords and having problems like that.
