Blown Engine, 1.6L, how to swap out?

I'm a pretty mechanic saavy guy. I have swapped out the supercharged V6 engine in my GTP a few times. Only thing is I could find a Chilton's manual for that car, but not one for this!!!

So here's my question: What involved in swapping out the engine from a 2001 accent? I'm not looking to do any modding, this is just my commuter. Also, is it possible to pull the tranny too at the same time? Should I just swap them both out while I'm there???

Thanks!

BTW: I did search, and didn't find much to help me.

Jason

Re: Blown Engine, 1.6L, how to swap out?

I have a replacement 1.6L engine from a 2004 Accent. PM me if you are interested. I'll give you the details on how to replace it after I finish removing it. It runs great 60,000miles. I am replacing it with an electric motor.

check your warranty.isn't your engine/transmission still covered under hyundai's 10 year warranty? back in 2001 i believe the warranty was transferable to a new owner.
my 2001 has had its share of probs. no internal engine or trans. just sensors, shocks, struts, wheel cylinders and calipers. even my front radio speakers.
all for free.
recently at 60k miles i did throw the dealer a bone. i paid him to replace my timing and pulley belts.
i'm getting too old to do a timing belt w/tensioner

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I just want to know:

Are the 2001 Accents any good? I have a chance to get one for $500 that aparently had blown a timing belt. If it's a non-interference engine, then I should be okay with replacing the belt and puting it back on the road, right?

What are the blunders on these cars? What are the problem spots? I have a lot of mechanical savy, but haven't messed with one of these yet.
