beating on a 944T

Hey i work for a porsche dealership and i just drove a 944T. how fast are they stock? i noticed the huge amount of turbo lag when i was rolling and nailed it. kinda cool. i saw on a couple sites that they are anywhere from 14.6-14.8 is that close?

Re: beating on a 944T

They are dead on a Z32TT (1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo). They'll usually run in the mid 5s to 60. They're pretty damn fast, man. That sounds about right. I'd LOVE one. First car I ever drove was one of my dad's NA 944s. Cool cars....but I'm a turbo fiend...

Re: beating on a 944T

cool i'll have to beat on it a little more when i get the chance. felt pretty strong when the turbo spooled up. if you like turbo's you should go for a ride with my buddy. he has a 2000 GSR with a completely built motor running tons of boost. he can easily make 400whp. i drove it on low boost and it felt insane lol

Re: beating on a 944T

I love the GSRs (I assume you're referring to Integra) but I just can't deal with a FWD sports car. I don't care how fast it is...how bad it is...whatever...torque steer pisses me off, not being able to do doughnuts pisses me off, understeer pisses me off...as far as I'm concerned, to be a "true" sports car, the car must be RWD and have a manual transmission.

But, I used to have a beater-ass '86 Celica GT-S with a 5 speed which was moderately fun at times (at best), mostly just cuz I didn't really care what happened to it and I used to have an '01 Honda Prelude with an AT that was great. Fun car to drive, beautiful car, really liked it but I'd never attempt to make anything out of it because of it's drivetrain curse.

I know...I'm weird. Lemme know how driving the 944T goes. Don't hurt it.
