Door Sensors
I believe they would be called the door sensors. When u open the door, it should register on the dash panel that your door is open. This in effect is what turns the stock alarm on. My problem is, both sensors (Driv/Pass) are no longer working. Had this start just after i got the car , brought it back in to be fixed, and im pretty sure they just switched the drivers side with the pass. side. Now, neither side works. Any idea how hard these are to change, or how much the part costs??? Thanks,

These are so easy to change. A definent DoItYourselfer profect and all you need is a small phillips head screw driver. Take out the screw pull out the switch and disconnect it. BE CAREFULL NOT TO LET THE WIRE GO BACK IT THE HOLE. Put a piece of tape on it after you diconnect it or just hold it from sliding back in the hole. The same thing happened with my Avenger. The sensors would not register that the car door opened and one time the security locked the doors with the key in and engine running. The sensors cost about $15/ea. if I remember right. You could try Autozone or other parts stores. A dealer could get them for you but might cost more. Or you could find another Avenger, Sebring, Eclipse, or Talon with the same sensors and take them. On mine I just took the sensor apart and cleaned it out but this is kind of tricky.
