Brake light on

I own a 95 grand cherokee and the "brake" light is on.....I turned off the engine and starting it up again and it went away, but later tonite it came back on......the ebrake is down 100% so after driving normally, I put it into park and lifted and then pushed down the ebrake to make sure it was down....still light on...any ideas?

YES - stop driving. The parking brake light also serves as a fault indicator for your stopping (main) brakes. Get it checked out ASAP.

thanks, i'll bring it to my mechanic asap....hopefully its a quick fix

just looked at my brake fluid resovior and it was almost bone dry....had my friend drive me to autozone to get some more....filled it up...light went off as i stepped on brake but then came back on....looked underneath only to find out that i had a bad break line and each time i stepped on the brakes i just pissed out more fluid....just left in the shop and gonna get it fixed .....figures...i justgot it friday and things already had to break on it
