one more question

hi guys..

well l wasnt gonna open new thread. but nobody answered my last question under TRANSMISSION DOWN thread so had to open new one.

here is my question;

do u think that my problem is one of these?

torque converter, oil pump, governor, bands, drums, planetaries, sun gear and shell, spring(s), shaft(s), bearings, shift rail, forks, synchronizers? ( THESE ARE COVERED PARTS)

OR ONE OF THESE?

levers, controls, linkage, cables, radiator, coolers, rubber mounts, external oil lines, viscous couplings, drive axles and electronic components, internal or external.? ( THESE ARE NOT COVERED)

thank you

Without having driven this car to diagnose it myself and having to guess via the internet, it is nearly impossible to answer that question. If I had to guess though, you probably have some sort of issue with the clutches and internal stuff that looks like it will be covered by your warranty...lets hope so anyway

Re: one more question

yeah man..

hopefully it will be coovered.

well, the problem is excatly like this, put the car on Drive or reverse, take your foot of the brake (do not accelerate) the car makes noise, inside the car u can hear better, it is not clung. it is like something rubbing some other thing. and as a result, it shakes car like u got really really bad rotors, like the car is braking and stop braking..it shakes the car softly.

(l didnt drive it at all. if front of my house l found out something was wrong, just like 20 feet l drove it and parked it and then towed to a delalership.

THE PROBLEM IS EXCATLY LIKE I EXPLAINED ABOVE. I HOPE NOW U GUYS WILL HAVE BETTER IDEAS!

thank you..

Re: one more question

well, today dealer told me that my transmission was completely gone. and they said if it is not covered, it is gonna cost me 3.200 bucks to rebuilt it and 3 years warranty. l said f*ck u!!!! l found another mechanic. he said l can send ur tranny to a place adn they can rebuilt it for 1200 bucks and l can istall it for 450 bucks. and total 1650 bucks. and 1 year warranty. is that a good deal?

l cant believe this. l didnt even drive the car when l felt the problem. and the fluid wasnt black or something. how come it is not fixable?

if anything happens the transmission, u need to rebuilt? cant u just change a part or fix it?

by the way my car is automatic and shifting hard. l mean when l gun the car. when it changes from 1st to 2nd the car jumps forward, l hit my head to seat. the same when it changes from 2nd to 3rd. (l dont know if it is the same from 3rd to 4th cuz of governer l couldnt be able to see the 4th gear. is that normal for firebirds? it is a sports car, is that why? l drove a corvette it was excatly the same. (l like it )

Also, my friend has honda civic stock except that muffler. his car is manual. and he says that he can beat me. l cant believe this. he says that he got manual thats why he can beat me. he has never got into a trans am, thats why he doesnt know the power of f-body l guess.. l will show him as soon as l am done.

$1600 sounds reasonable...and any time internal components start to go inside a tranny, the rebuild cost starts around $1000 and goes up depending on how long you drove it messed up, what broke, and what's worn out and needs replacement.

wtf is wrone with these ricers? Ya he will beat you with your tranny out that is probly what he ment, lol. You could push your car and probly still beat him, lol. That gives you even more of a reason to get your tranny fixed. Git it fixed, break it in, and smoke that car!!!

Thats another thing...if you do rebuild your tranny, make sure you break it in by driving it easy and allowing everything to settle in before hammering on it racing cars that are hardly worth the effort...

Re: one more question

hey man..

l didnt even drove the car 20 feet. delaer is 4 miles away from my place. l didnt wanna drive it and make it bad. l paid 65 bucks for towing and towed the car. maybe delaer is lieing to me and says that l need to rebuilt iit completely. maybe it is not that bad. man, in europe mechanics are not like that. they are doin their best honeslty and not asking this much labor.

anwyay.. when it is done, l will sell it as soon as possible. l dont want to but l know l have to!!!!

l want 02 trans am. but now l dont trust anything. even if it is low miles, maybe something is wrong with it.

when l am ready to buy one, l will need your helps. l want real a 02 low miles trans am clean, except oil changes, fluid changes. l dont want any work done on the car. or involved any accident.

thank u.

man l asked him that if he was serious. and l found out he was pretty serious.

l am not telling that l am better than him. my car is much much powerful than his car. maybe he is better driver maybe not. even if he is an excellent driver, l would still smoke him. cuz l am not a bad driver at all. l got good skills.

he told me man it is about the driver. and l told him, so what? am l a crap driver? he said no, just u got auto thats why l can get u.

well, too bad he had an accident and he cant drive it anymore. front of the car is all messy. l will just let him drive my car. that will answer him much much better, IF HE CAN GET ME

Re: one more question

mine??

man when it is fixed it is gonna be a new car

cuz l spent just for repair 4.500 bucks. new tires, new water pump, new heater hoses, new something about transmission fluid parts, new transmission, new transmission mount. new original brake pads for four wheel and machined four rotors. new flowmaster exhaust system. also, l am gonna add cut-out soon.

and it has 128.000 miles.

so how much do u think people would ppay me for this car?

by the way, 97cavalier, did u get my PM??
