HELP! Key Trouble

I have a 95 s-10 style blazer, 4 door, 2wd. and I am now trying to figure out why the key is stuck in the ignition and it will crank up but wont shift in any other gear (stays in Park). If you know anything HELP please.

Same thing happened in my blazer, it would get stuck and you couldnt pull it out but it would crank up as normal and turn off as normal. I just drove around a little bit and when I parked it would come out sometimes. It stopped once I got my ignition switch fixed.
