that depends. Does he have a great big spoiler, and asian decals? Those make some serious RWHP.

I wouldn't worry about it. It is just a high priced luxury family sedan. I raced an '05 Acura RL thats why I showed interest in this thread. My GTP is not stock but it was no contest. It wasn't worth the effort or time. The driver was so embarrassed that he would not look at me when I let him catch up and chickened out on the second stoplight. Checkout Drag Times:

Supposedly there is an optional Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) on the Acura RL which apportions added thrust to the rear wheels as road conditions dictate, but it also sends extra power to the outside rear wheel during fast cornering to counter the understeer in nose-heavy all-wheel-drive vehicles and so forth. Pulls .87 gs on a skidpad.

And you would ruin him in the straights.

You probably corner about as well as the Acura.

Re: Acura vs Trans Am

Don't waste your time... Just tell him: "Racing imports is like the Special Olympics... Even if you win, you're STILL retarded..."

Who cares WHAT an Acura can do? I know I'd rather be seen in a Pontiac than ANY Jap car... Okay, well, I MIGHT like NSX... But a 4-door??!! NOT.....

Re: Acura vs Trans Am

Well, I hope we don't get too bitter about imports, because as everyone knows, they do make good ones.

I always fall back to "seeing is believing".

Besides, a vehicle is the man and his machine. If you can't drive for junk then driving a Nextel Cup car may not help you and talking smack about someone's car isn't worth the hot air you're blowing unless you can back it up for real.

So stop talking and start representing and let us know how it turns out.

WAIT A MINUTE!!! That overpriced Honda has 300hp/260tq??!!! And it ONLY does 15.00 in the 1/4??!!! How much does that thing weigh? What is the gearing like in the trans.? It's probably geared for MPG and smooth shifting for Granny.

I raced a guy in a 90(?)Mustang GT the other day in my 97 Taurus 24V DOHC Duretec (200hp/200tq) and beat him by a fender. It was auto and did have alot of miles on it (150,000). But still I beat him. Mine has 93,000 miles and it's newer, and FWD and I don't think the punk kid knew how to drive, but still a win, so I'll take it. The drag times thing says I should run 16.1. I don't know if that's the base engine or the DOHC. I'm guessing the base if I was able to beat a 5.0. They're around 14.8-15.1 stock.
