P1406 Code

Help! I have the SES light on and the code says a P1406 EGR Valve Pintle Position Curcuit. The truck runs rough and pops through the exhaust.

I have replaced the EGR about 2 years ago. Could the EGR go bad this soon?

OR--What else could it be? I checked all the wiring. Everything is fine.

If your EGR valve was replaced with a after market valve it very well could be. GM finally modified theirs so it would not clog up my adding a filter screeen. Untill that happened I cleaned the origional several times to clean out the carbon build up.
